Metal casting

Metal casting is a cost effective way of making a workable component. This is particularly handy for restorers who may want to make a new casting of an old part. The Dream Team can model that component and even redesign it. We print the component pattern in 3D using a special wax filament. Our foundry partners take the wax pattern and form an investment mold around the pattern. The wax is then burnt out of the mold in a lost wax process, ready for metal casting. Both the pattern and mold are destroyed in the process of casting. However, it is inexpensive to reprint the component pattern in wax using the 3D printing process, ready for another casting.
